Titanium is the core material of RM UP-01. The baseline and bridges, as well as the case, are crafted of grade 5 titanium, which is often used by the aerospace, aeronautics and automotive industries for its rigidness and lightness, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.

The escapement of RM UP-01 was developed and patented by the engineers from Audemars Piguet Le Locle and Richard Mille and is dramatically reduced in height thanks to the technological modifications. This innovative ultra-flat escapement that matches a Swiss anchor escapement in security is equipped with a balance wheel in titanium that ensures the watch’s stability and durability.

The RM UP-01 has an extraordinarily fast-rotating barrel, guaranteeing increased performance and a power reserve of 45 hours. Instead of one crown traditionally located on the side of the watch to adjust the time, the RM UP-01 has two integrated into the bezel. Black ceramic inserts and a mono-bloc construction protect the watch from friction and ensure water resistance to 10 m.
