Cartier launched Beautés du Monde collection at the prestigious Palacio de Liria in Madrid.
This place, rich in art and history, is the residence of the XIX Duke of Alba, one of Spain’s most aristocratic families, thus adding history and splendour to the various interpretations of beauty created for this new collection. This memorable event was attended by many selected friends of Cartier, including Golshifteh Farahani, Maria Carla Boscono, Yara Shahidi, Vanessa Kirby, JISOO, Bianca Brandolini, Virginie Efira, Emma Chamberlain, Milena Smit, Blanca Li, Florence Kasumba, Tara Emad and Kimberley Anne Woltemas. This High Jewelry collection, created by Jacqueline Karachi, is a tribute to the diversity of Beauty in all its facets and aspects. It features the beauty of nature, taking its inspiration from various landscapes and habitats around the globe like a kaleidoscope of wonderful colors and shapes.

This collection is composed by six necklaces and seven rings, plus an additional jewelry collection set with necklaces, earrings, rings and brooches. The Nouchali necklace was inspired by a floating water lily, evoked in a geometric pattern of onyx-tipped diamond petals centered around a 10.61-carat rubellite cabochon. The flower floats on a sautoir of lilac-tinted chalcedony beads. Fully articulated and set on “trembleurs”, the lily petals fluctuate at the slightest movement of air. This technique is typical of Cartier’s savoir-faire since the 1950s.

The Récif necklace is inspired by the marine ecosystem and celebrates the beauty of the Coral Reef. A living nature, suspended between fauna and flora, whose appearance is stylized by the jeweler. Cartier aims at marking the contrasts between emerald and coral that form a liana made with spheres winding along an atoll of diamonds.

In this collection there are also many abstract creatures.
The snake-like form, a motif beloved by one of Cartier’s most famous clients, the actress Maria Felix, is the theme of the sinuous Water Aspis necklace featuring a hypnotic pattern of triangular-cut diamonds and lapis lazuli scales. Five spectacular Ceylon cabochon-cut sapphires enhance the sensuality of this collier with their vivid blue colour. The realism of this creation is accentuated by the perception of the undulatory movement and by the volumes that give us the idea of a snake tightening its grip on its prey.

The Water Aspis Necklace The Apatura collier aims at representing the wing of a butterfly and its iridescent beauty. The creative process that gave life to the Apatura necklace was the observation of the infinitely small. And what better stone than opal, with its rainbow shades, to represent its liveliness and brilliance. This collier features three Australian opals for a total of 22.08 carats, framed in geometric patterns composed of diamond bars and blue and colored sapphire spheres whose shades echo the reflections of the opal. The whole composition is abstract and aims at expressing the essence of a butterfly.

Through the Rituel set, Cartier pays homage to the beauty of ornaments, and more precisely to traditional Mesoamerican sets. Composed of a double blue row of chalcedony spheres, this necklace is studded with bright rubies.

Texture, relief: the iguana’s green skin inspired the Maison’s designer to create this set, which fully reveals its beauty through a necklace studded with diamonds and emeralds.

The capsule collection consists of seven one-of-a-kind cocktail rings. They are all inspired by the beauty of the world. Seven rings that take the eye on a journey, from the depths of the seabed to the far horizon. Each of them as if in miniature, represents the extraordinary creativity of the universe. A shell taken from a drawing in an old biology book, a chimera, Homer’s mythological creature, a fossilized ammonite, a sea monster, a constellation, a geological crystallization, a Chinese puzzle form this jeweler’s cabinet of curiosities, a sort of Wunderkammer.

This High Jewelry collection culminates in three jewelry sets that play around with rubellites, onyx, and diamonds based on various design motifs. I therefore invite you to discover this new Beauté du Monde collection in its entirety.
